Inata Honten (Sake Brewery)

A venerable sake brewery founded over 350 years ago and home to the renowned "Inadahime" brand.

About this place

Inata Honten is a long-established sake brewery located in Yomimachi, Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture. Its founding is said to date back to Enpo 1 (1673), during the early Edo period, giving it a history of more than 350 years. The flagship brand, "Inadahime," takes its name from the beautiful goddess said to appear in the legend of Yamata no Orochi slain on the slopes of Mt. Daisen.

Using pure water flowing down from Mt. Daisen and rice nurtured by the climate of the San'in region, the brewery has continued to craft sake while preserving its traditional methods. Deeply rooted in the local landscape and mythology, the brewery has long been cherished by residents of the area.

At the on-site shop, visitors can taste and purchase the flagship brand. Conveniently accessible from central Yonago, it is a popular stop for those looking to take home a bottle of San'in local sake as a souvenir.
