Hōki Town has two libraries, in Mizokuchi and Kishimoto; this is the Kishimoto branch. Borrowers may take up to 10 items for up to 14 days. It opens 9:30–18:00 Tuesday through Friday and 9:30–17:00 on weekends, closing Mondays, the last weekday of each month (a stocktaking day), public holidays and the New Year period.
The library keeps a corner for small exhibitions. In June 2026 it showed 'Hand-bound Photo Books,' with covers wrapped in washi paper and cloth arranged along a display wall and on a table. The exhibited books cannot be borrowed; visitors are invited to pick them up and look through them.
Beyond borrowing books, it also works as a place to rest out of the rain or the summer heat. Items may be borrowed from and returned to either of the town's two libraries.
