One of Japan's largest authentic Chinese gardens, with daily acrobatics shows.
Enchōen is a full-scale Chinese garden built in 1995 as a symbol of friendship between Tottori Prefecture and Hebei Province, China. Located in Yurihama Town on the shore of Lake Tōgō, the garden covers 10,000 m² and features imperial-style architecture, ponds, and covered walkways.
The name 'Enchō' is an ancient name for Hebei Province, and the garden faithfully incorporates traditional Chinese landscape design. Chinese acrobatics shows are held daily free of charge, letting visitors enjoy authentic performances up close. Chinese costume rentals are also available, making it a popular spot for atmospheric photos.
A roadside station (michi-no-eki) 'Enchōen' is located on the grounds, stocking Chinese goods and local Tottori specialties. The garden is about 15 minutes by car from Misasa Onsen and about 20 minutes from the Kurayoshi White-Wall Storehouses.
