The range is centered on Hōki Town and reaches out to Yonago, Mt. Daisen, Sakaiminato, Matsue, and Izumo — basically, everywhere you can get to after landing at Yonago Airport.
On the “temperature of being there”
There are plenty of sites out there that praise the famous spots with beautiful photos. This site doesn’t do that. Instead, it writes with the temperature of a person who was actually there. A cloudy day stays a cloudy day. If something was underwhelming, we say it was. We treasure the kind of single line only a resident could write — like “I love the evenings here.”
The “last checked” rule
Local information is perishable. Opening hours, prices, events — they all change. So each article carries a “last checked” date, making clear when the information is from. Before you head out, please check the latest details through the official links placed on each spot. And if you spot a mistake, we’d be delighted if you’d quietly let us know.
What the scenery log (Hōki Walks) is
It’s a dated record of just one photo and a few lines. Scenery not quite worth a full article, but worth keeping. It piles up as little pins on the map. We’d love it if you watched the same places change with the seasons, together with us.
